Today's Meeting

Ladies and Gentlemen –
 
We had a great meeting this morning, celebrating Jeremy’s birthday.  Our speaker was Beth Reynolds, who until recently ran several herds of goats to provide grass and brush clearing in different areas in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County.  She has sold her business and is now a Cal Poly Professor.  It was very interesting to learn about how she managed the various herds with portable electric fencing and working dogs.
 
In other news,
 
  1. Roger Ridley is forming a foursome to play in the Pismo Beach 5-Cities Golf Tournament on May 4 at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.  He has room for two players – please see Roger if you would like to play.
  2. Harry will award scholarships at our June 10 meeting
  3. The Paul Harris Awards Dinner is on May 13.  Cocktails at 5:30, dinner at 6:00  (we are dark that morning)
  4. Public Service Awards Dinner is May 20 at 5:30 (we are dark that morning)
  5. We will provide a hot dog and hamburger barbecue lunch for volunteer workers (about 100) at Dana Elementary School on April 25 at 10:30.  Please let Mike Streator or Bill Pucciarelli know if you would like to help.
  6. Next board meeting is April 22 at 5:30 at Socorro Simons’ house.
  7. Your president’s step down is on Flag Day, June 14 at 1:00 at Socorro Simons’ house
  8. District Governor Loretta Butts’ step down and awards luncheon is on June 27 at the Radisson in Santa Maria
